Jacob Stratman, Ph.D., professor of English and dean of the College of Bible, Humanities and Arts, released his second book of poetry, “the shell of things,” in May 2024. Following poet Gerard Manley Hopkins’ claim that “the world is charged with the grandeur of God,” Stratman’s poems enjoy the thin places of regular life in the natural world, human relationships and new places we find ourselves where God reveals his truth, goodness and beauty.
