Daniel Bennett, Ph.D., published “Uneasy Citizenship: Embracing the Tension in Faith and Politics” in May 2024. In the book, Bennett, associate professor of political science at JBU, proposes a way forward for the politically engaged and weary alike. Identifying challenges and opportunities stemming from contemporary politics, Bennett argues for distinctly Christian engagement that confounds society’s notions of effective politics. He advises Christians to combat the temptation to idolize political outcomes and focus instead on cultivating faithful practices at the individual, local and national levels.
